Household support

A home that runs, so you can live in it.

Meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry and organization that keep the home safe and comfortable without taking it over.

What's included

What a visit can include.

Meal planning and preparation

Grocery lists, cooking to your tastes and dietary needs, portioning meals for later in the week.

Light housekeeping

Kitchen, bathroom, floors, dusting, trash and recycling. The areas you use, kept clean and clear of hazards.

Laundry and linens

Washing, drying, folding, putting away, and changing bed linens.

Organization and mail

Sorting mail, keeping paperwork findable, tidying so what you need is within reach.

Home safety checks

Clear walkways, working lights, smoke detector sounds, trip hazards noticed and reported.

Pet care support

Feeding, fresh water, letting the dog out, and litter where it's part of your plan.

Who it's for

Who this support fits.

  • Anyone whose home has become hard to keep up with
  • Members whose care plan includes household tasks alongside personal care
  • Adults with disabilities building independent-living skills with support
  • Families who want a reliable person keeping an eye on the home environment
What to expect

How we deliver it.

We work from your Service Plan and your standards, not ours. Your DSP learns where things go and how you like them done. Skill-building is part of it when you want it: cooking together rather than for you, if independence is the goal.

What we don't do

Household support is not deep cleaning, heavy lifting, outdoor maintenance or home repair. DSPs do not handle your money, pay bills or manage accounts.

Coverage

Covered through Family Care, IRIS or private pay.

Program members: ask your care manager or IRIS consultant to authorize Haven Crest Homes. Families: ask about hourly private-pay care. See programs and coverage →
